Lake Victoria's deepest point is 84 meters and the lake's surface area is nearly 69 000 km2. The lake is an extremely important fresh water source and gives many possibilities to use its enormous water resources. The flight from Mwanza to Bukoba takes about one hour. From there it is only 56 km from Bukoba to Ndolage Voluntary Agency Hospital. The hospital is located in Kamachumu town.
